Open the app and tap Logbooks from the home screen. Select your vehicle and tap Start Trip. Choose whether the trip is business or private, and GPS tracking will begin automatically.

You can also start trips from:

• The Home Screen widget (Quick Actions)
• Siri — say "Hey Siri, start a business trip"
• The Lock Screen widget
• Apple Watch complication or app

Go to your Profile tab and tap Generate Report. Select the date range and vehicle, choose your preferred deduction method (cents per km or logbook method), and tap Export PDF. You can share the PDF directly with your accountant via email, AirDrop, or any sharing method.

Yes. Your data is stored locally on your device and synced to your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. We do not operate servers or databases — we never have access to your data. iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple.

The only third-party service used is OpenAI's API for receipt text extraction. Receipt images are processed and not retained by OpenAI. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Go to Logbooks and tap the + button to add a new vehicle. Enter the make, model, year, registration, and current odometer reading. To edit an existing vehicle, tap on it in the vehicle list and select Edit.

You can track trips across multiple vehicles. Each vehicle maintains its own trip history and odometer readings.

The ATO allows two methods for claiming car expense deductions:

• Cents per kilometre — 88c/km (FY 2024-25), capped at 5,000 business km. Simpler, no receipts needed.
• Logbook method — requires a 12-week continuous logbook period, valid for 5 years. Can claim the business-use percentage of all running costs.

Logbook calculates both methods so you can compare. We recommend consulting a registered tax agent to determine which method is best for your situation.
